Classical Fencing Introduction

Old School Dueling

Classical fencing is the modern recreation of dueling and civilian self defense as it existed in the mid to late Renaissance period through to the end of the 1800's when swords were no longer worn even as a fashion accessory, except by royalty and certain military officers. This style has never died, from modern times through to the halls of old Europe where it began, someone has always practiced it in its martial form. Sports have risen from its varied nature, it has been overshadowed by its sportive progeny: and yet the old “arts of defense” live on. It has long been despised as a martial art by those preferring the strange and exotic or the ruthless and brutal arts of nations shrouded in a mystic past. Somehow, despite all of this the old art has endured. Its practitioners generally keep to themselves, friends and family pass it on, person to person. Among all fencers there is a brotherhood, and practitioners of this method are no different. So, come join us...If you can!
